HAIR sheep
parasite-resistant
Parasite resistance is the single biggest thing we select for when looking for future genetics to keep in the flock. Any animal that shows signs of parasites is culled.
perfect match
Forbes such as ragweed, Queen Anne’s lace, milkweed, Autumn Olive, Sericea Lespedeza, goldenrod, and ironweed go untouched by the cattle. The sheep seek them out, making them excellent complimentary grazers to the herd.
labor-free lambing
We allow the flock to lamb with no intervention, reducing lamb confusion, flock stress, and ultimately reducing death loss.
little input, big reward
We take a no-nonsense approach to managing our flock. Our ewes must be moderate in size, great foragers, and require no special treatment. With thoughtful pasture rotation and a strict culling program, our hair sheep continue to be the ultimate low-input animal.
